Civil Maintenance Supervisor (Drainage)

About the role

The City of Kalamunda is seeking a Civil Maintenance Supervisor (Drainage) to lead the delivery of proactive and reactive maintenance programs across the City's drainage network and civil infrastructure. Reporting to the Coordinator Civil Maintenance, you will lead City crews and contractors, plan work programs, coordinate resources and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget. This is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight, with flexible options such as a 9-day fortnight or flexitime.

Key responsibilities

• Lead reactive and programmed drainage maintenance works
• Supervise staff, contractors and day-to-day field operations
• Plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance activities
• Manage procurement, quotations and contractor performance
• Monitor budgets and ensure projects are delivered on time
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service
• Support continuous improvement across maintenance operations

Required profile

• Experience supervising civil maintenance or infrastructure maintenance teams
• Demonstrated experience in contractor and contract management
• Sound knowledge of drainage maintenance, civil infrastructure and maintenance practices
• Experience in work planning, budgeting and project coordination
• Experience in procurement, contract management and tendering
• Experience interpreting drawings, estimating, budgeting and budget monitoring
• Experience obtaining permits and liaising with stakeholders
• Knowledge of environmental issues and WHS rules and regulations

Required skills

• Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite and accounts and record-keeping software
• Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
• Analytical judgement and initiative

Salary is $93,063 - $100,087 per annum plus superannuation and allowances; the closing date is Sunday, 1 November 2026.
