Senior Project Director

About the role

This senior leadership position oversees large‑scale construction and fit‑out programmes across a national retail network. You will manage end‑to‑end delivery of new builds, refurbishments and strategic capital works with an annual budget exceeding $200M.

Key responsibilities

• Lead statewide construction and fit‑out programmes from feasibility through to completion.
• Manage delivery against scope, programme and budget while maintaining operational continuity in live environments.
• Drive safety, quality and compliance across all projects and teams.
• Oversee financial performance, including forecasting, cost control and approvals.
• Build and manage relationships with contractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Partner with internal property, finance, operations and procurement teams.
• Contribute to strategic planning and long‑term network growth.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 10+ construction professionals.
• Ensure governance, risk management and reporting frameworks are consistently applied.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in construction project/program management within multi‑site retail environments.
• Proven leadership of large multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing capital programmes of $100M+.
• Strong understanding of delivering projects in live operational settings.
• Demonstrated contract negotiation and tender management expertise.
• Knowledge of Australian building codes and compliance standards.
