About the role
The Queensland Government is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to provide strategic advice and tactical support across the department. This role ensures procurement activities align with the Queensland Procurement Strategy and the QLD Procurement Policy, supporting service delivery requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑level procurement advice to senior management and departmental staff.
- Lead significant procurement projects, including planning, tender development, evaluation, contract negotiation and drafting.
- Develop and maintain contract management plans and assist with dispute mediation.
- Support the design, implementation and review of procurement systems, policies, procedures and training.
- Monitor market trends and legislative changes that affect procurement activities.
- Research, prepare and present complex submissions, reports and briefing materials for senior leadership.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in public‑sector procurement and supply contracting.
- Strong knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and related legislation.
- Proven ability to manage large‑scale procurement projects from inception to award.
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills for preparing reports and briefings.
- Capability to work independently and provide guidance in a decentralized environment.
