Senior Pharmacist – Quality Use of Medicines

About the role

The Senior Pharmacist – Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) leads medication safety initiatives across Peter Mac’s pharmacy department. Working full‑time on‑site, you will coordinate safety oversight, monitor prescribing trends and drive quality improvement in line with national standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all medication safety activities in the organisation.
• Monitor prescribing patterns, conduct audits and analyse data to inform safety initiatives.
• Develop and implement quality improvement projects to enhance the quality use of medicines.
• Collaborate with Quality & Safety teams, precinct partners and multidisciplinary clinicians.
• Represent the pharmacy department within the broader health‑care service.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with AHPRA (or eligible for registration).
• Proven experience in medication safety and quality use of medicines.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence practice and build relationships.
• Experience in oncology pharmacy practice is highly desirable.
