Senior Pharmacist – Medicines Repackaging Services

About the role

Canberra Health Services is seeking an experienced senior pharmacist to lead its Medicines Repackaging Service. The role combines advanced clinical and operational pharmacy practice with leadership, quality management, and technology‑enabled service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operation of multi‑dose sachet packaging, unit‑dose repackaging, pre‑packing, relabelling and quality assurance activities.
• Provide expert advice on medicine stability, expiry determination and packaging suitability.
• Drive quality assurance, governance, audit, accreditation and compliance activities.
• Champion continuous improvement, innovation and workflow optimisation.
• Implement and validate repackaging technologies and digital systems.
• Supervise, mentor and develop pharmacists, technicians, interns and students.
• Contribute to strategic growth and future direction of medicines repackaging services across CHS.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with experience in hospital pharmacy, medicines repackaging or operational pharmacy services.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Passion for quality, governance, patient safety and team development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medicine stability and packaging suitability.
• Experience with quality assurance and governance processes.
• Familiarity with repackaging technologies and digital systems.
