Senior Pharmacy Technician Team Leader – Compounding

About the role

Join Northern Health’s Pharmacy Department as the Team Leader for a brand‑new state‑of‑the‑art compounding suite launching in early 2027. You will partner with the Senior Pharmacist – Compounding Services to design workflows, lead technicians and ensure safe, compliant aseptic production across multiple campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the compounding suite and manage technician workflow.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, local guidelines and quality‑control procedures.
• Supervise, train and assess pharmacy staff competency.
• Monitor clean‑room environments, PPE use and aseptic practice.
• Drive audits, KPIs and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Health (Hospital Pharmacy Technician) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years pharmacy technician experience, including at least 3 years in aseptic production.
• Proven experience supervising, training and developing pharmacy technicians.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, on‑call and across multiple campuses.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PIC/S GMP standards.
• Familiarity with USP compounding guidelines.
• Experience with clean‑room testing and monitoring.
