Senior People Advisor – Rail Operations

About the role

The Senior People Advisor will partner with rail business leaders in Brisbane to manage the full employee lifecycle. The role focuses on industrial and employee relations, workforce planning, development and broader people initiatives within an engineering and construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coach leaders on employee relations, industrial matters and people management.
• Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, legislation and workplace policies.
• Build productive relationships with unions and workforce representatives and support consultation.
• Manage investigations, grievances, performance matters and disciplinary processes.
• Support talent and succession planning, organisational development and workforce planning.
• Contribute to remuneration reviews, benefits programs and strategic people initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience as a senior HR advisor or business partner.
• Strong employee and industrial relations background, preferably in rail, construction, infrastructure, engineering or mining.
• Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work requirements.
• Ability to coach and influence leaders, resolve conflict and communicate clearly.
• Tertiary qualifications in human resources, business or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Understanding of enterprise agreements and union engagement.
• Familiarity with Australian employment law and Fair Work Act.
