Senior Medical Officer – Radiologist

About the role

West Moreton Health is seeking a Senior Medical Officer – Radiologist to lead Tier A image‑guided procedures across its hospitals and prison health services. The role combines clinical leadership, hands‑on interventional work and the supervision and teaching of Radiology Registrars.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and supervise a range of Tier A image‑guided interventional procedures.
• Lead the delivery of patient care within the Medical Imaging department, ensuring timely reporting and high‑quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Ipswich Hospital and regional sites to achieve departmental objectives.
• Participate in teaching, research and mentorship activities for registrars, students and non‑medical staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (or equivalent).
• Current or eligible AHPRA registration as a Specialist in Radiology.
• Proven ability to manage complex clinical situations in a tertiary‑level teaching environment.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with experience in conflict resolution and change management.

Required skills

• Expertise in CT, MRI, OPG, Ultrasound, Mammography, General X‑ray and Fluoroscopy.
• Competence in performing and supervising Tier A image‑guided interventional procedures.
