About the role
KPMG Law’s Tax Dispute Resolution & Controversy team is seeking an experienced senior manager to advise multinational and domestic taxpayers on complex tax disputes with Australian revenue authorities. The role offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and manage client disputes with the ATO, AusIndustry and State/Territory revenue authorities, including audits, objections and litigation.
- Collaborate with internal tax and legal specialists and external counsel to develop advocacy and dispute‑resolution strategies.
- Provide legal advice on taxation and administrative law across all Australian jurisdictions.
- Lead and mentor high‑performing teams, fostering development and career progression.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in corporate/international tax, tax law or tax dispute resolution within a Big 4, law firm or government agency.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and project‑management abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, ethical approach and alignment with KPMG’s values.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Australian tax law and administrative procedures.
- Experience with tax litigation, alternative dispute resolution and cross‑border tax issues.
