Senior Manager Strategic Procurement

About the role

Ambulance Victoria is seeking a Senior Manager Strategic Procurement to lead the procurement function, overseeing complex tender processes and contract management across the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, the role combines strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and leadership of the Tender team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a forward‑looking procurement plan aligned with AV priorities.
• Provide specialist advice and reporting to the CPO to support strategic decision‑making.
• Lead the Tender team, managing tender documentation, selection processes and evaluation of options to ensure value for money and compliance with government and legislative requirements.
• Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance commercial outcomes and financial reporting.
• Mentor and develop staff, delivering high‑level specialist advice and professional service delivery.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in law, business, economics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in strategic procurement, tender design, execution and evaluation, preferably within a large government or public‑service organisation.
• Proven track record in contract management for complex service delivery.
• Strong financial, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
