Senior Manager - Employment Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG Australia's national Employment Taxes team within its Workforce Advisory business is recruiting senior talent (manager through to director) to join the team in Perth. The team supports leadership and mentoring of junior team members while delivering advisory and compliance engagements for a diverse client portfolio, including complex tax advice, payroll and superannuation reviews and tax managed services for some of Australia's largest employers.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Australia's largest corporate and government employers on fringe benefit tax, payroll tax, PAYG withholding and Superannuation Guarantee obligations
• Help develop employment tax compliance solutions, including the use of data analytics and robotic process automation
• Resolve disputes and investigations with tax authorities
• Contribute to growing the national network and shaping future employment tax offerings
• Work within the wider Workforce Advisory business alongside a collaborative national team
• Develop and grow external client and internal KPMG relationships

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance, Economics, Law or a related discipline
• A relevant professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CTA or legal admission is highly regarded
• Experience executing tax compliance and advisory work for clients; employment tax experience highly desirable
• Ability to research tax issues technically and solve problems
• Proven track record of building strong client relationships
• Confident in creating sales material such as proposals and case studies

Required skills

• Strong experience with Excel and working with big data
• Clear written and verbal communication of complex concepts
