Senior Finance Administrator

About the role

Australian Venue Co., a hospitality group with pubs, bars and restaurants across Australia and New Zealand, is looking for a detail-focused Senior Finance Administrator to join its Finance Administration team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Finance Administration Manager, the role suits someone with experience in cash settlements, bank reconciliations and high-volume transaction environments who enjoys investigating issues and keeping financial processes accurate and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bank, cash-in-transit and cash-clearing journals
• Complete weekly cash and tender clearing reconciliations, investigate and resolve variances, and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Process daily payment runs across the Group and review monthly cash floats from more than 210 venues
• Review and process petty cash receipts, and reconcile venue debtors, functions, reservations and related receipts
• Support automated revenue data imports and troubleshooting, create and maintain reconciliation templates, and assist with external audits and finance projects
• Develop practical solutions to prevent recurring issues

Required profile

• At least two years' experience in a similar finance administration, cash settlement or reconciliation role
• Experience in a high-volume, multi-site retail or hospitality environment
• Strong understanding of POS systems and reconciliation processes
• Ability to investigate variances and resolve complex or recurring issues
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and clear communication skills
• Adaptable to new systems, with initiative, sound judgement and a collaborative approach
