Senior Manager, AI Platform Capability & ML Build

About the role

As Senior Manager, AI Platform Capability & ML Build you will lead a high‑performing engineering capability that creates reusable AI platform solutions for the bank. You will shape next‑generation AI services, governance controls and developer experiences to accelerate safe AI adoption across ANZ.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a forward‑deployed engineering team to convert high‑value opportunities into scalable AI platform solutions.
• Design, build and operate AI platform services such as model gateways, agent runtimes, orchestration, evaluation frameworks and observability.
• Define enterprise‑wide agentic AI frameworks covering DevOps, APIs, data integration and AI Control Plane connectivity.
• Establish intelligent routing and governance patterns that balance performance, cost, safety and business outcomes.
• Drive secure‑by‑design engineering practices to meet ANZ’s security, risk and governance standards.
• Build developer‑focused tooling, SDKs, reference architectures and reusable assets for rapid AI adoption.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering technical excellence, accountability, inclusion and continuous learning.
• Influence senior stakeholders and guide enterprise‑level decisions on AI platform architecture and strategy.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading platform, AI, MLOps, LLMOps or DevSecOps engineering in large, complex organisations.
• Proven ability to translate business problems into scalable engineering solutions and delivery roadmaps.
• Demonstrated success leading high‑performing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influence with senior leaders across business, technology and risk.
• Experience in banking, financial services or other highly regulated industries is highly regarded.

• Platform engineering, AI engineering, MLOps, LLMOps, DevSecOps, cloud‑native engineering.
• Distributed systems, backend services, APIs, infrastructure‑as‑code, containerisation.
• CI/CD pipelines, observability, Site Reliability Engineering practices.
• Generative AI, agentic AI architectures, orchestration, retrieval, workflow automation, production monitoring.
