Senior Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy

About the role

Enemix, in partnership with a global independent power producer, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Legal Counsel to join its Renewable Energy Legal Team. This full‑time, fixed‑term role will support the development, financing, procurement, construction and operation of wind, solar and battery storage projects across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate procurement and construction contracts, including EPC, balance‑of‑plant, turbine supply and OEM agreements.
• Provide legal advice on procurement strategies, tender processes and financing structures for equity and debt.
• Support lender due‑diligence, ensuring project contracts align with financing assumptions.
• Advise on grid‑connection agreements, regulatory matters and related obligations.
• Manage claims against contractors and suppliers, oversee dispute resolution and coordinate external counsel for litigation or arbitration.
• Offer general legal support on health & safety, intellectual property and regulatory issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve legal processes, precedents and knowledge management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years post‑admission legal experience.
• Australian legal qualifications and admission to practice in an Australian state or territory (or eligibility to obtain admission).
• Expertise in front‑end construction, procurement and major project contracting, as well as back‑end construction contracting, claims management and dispute resolution.
• Experience with project and/or equity financing, particularly in renewables, energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
