Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Workers Compensation team in Canberra. The role is full‑time, permanent and offers flexible, hybrid working arrangements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality legal advice and drive successful outcomes for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Workers Compensation practice, overseeing case files from intake to resolution.
• Provide clear, practical, and concise legal and commercial advice to clients.
• Develop tailored strategies that consider the specific context of each matter.
• Identify innovative solutions and negotiate favourable outcomes.
• Build and maintain client relationships, contributing to the growth of the practice.
• Deliver exceptional client service and uphold the firm’s standards of professionalism.

Required profile

• Significant practising experience in personal injury law with a focus on Workers Compensation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a compassionate approach to client interactions.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
• Demonstrated network and relationship management capabilities.
• Superior organisational skills and sound judgement.
