Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Energy Queensland is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to provide independent, evidence‑based insights that shape risk management across its diverse electricity operations. This role is not a checklist audit; it directly informs senior leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee on key risks and control effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Own internal audits from planning through fieldwork, reporting and follow‑up.
• Partner with stakeholders across regulated network operations, infrastructure projects and energy transition initiatives to assess control effectiveness.
• Translate risk and control findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit colleagues to deliver high‑quality, risk‑based audits aligned with Global Internal Audit Standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in internal audit, risk or assurance roles with a hands‑on delivery focus.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics; CA or CIA membership highly regarded.
• Commercially aware, pragmatic approach with ability to work autonomously.
