Senior In-House Legal Counsel

About the role

Police Bank is seeking an experienced Senior In‑House Legal Counsel to provide end‑to‑end legal support across commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, balancing legal risk with strategic business objectives while supporting the bank’s growth and member‑focused mission.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, distribution, outsourcing, NDAs, MOUs and partnership contracts.
• Provide commercially focused legal advice on contract risk, liability, pricing structures and dispute mitigation.
• Support product development, procurement, technology and business teams with timely legal input.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and guidance materials to improve efficiency.
• Manage contract disputes, claims and negotiations, coordinating with external counsel when needed.
• Monitor, interpret and advise on banking and financial services laws, regulations, prudential standards and regulatory guidance.
• Design, implement and enhance regulatory compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
• Advise on regulatory change initiatives and assess impacts on products, operations and strategy.
• Engage with regulators and industry bodies, supporting responses to regulatory inquiries.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with extensive experience in in‑house legal roles within the banking or financial services sector.
• Proven ability to partner with business units and senior executives.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
• Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
