Senior Human Resources Manager – ANZ Retail Expansion

About the role

This senior HR position will lead the people function for a fast‑growing international retail group across Australia and New Zealand. You will partner with country leaders and international HR teams to shape workforce stability, talent acquisition and organisational capability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to improve workforce stability, reduce turnover and boost engagement, especially for frontline retail teams.
• Drive a proactive recruitment strategy that shortens time‑to‑hire, improves candidate quality and builds a strong talent pipeline.
• Partner with business leaders on strategic workforce planning, succession pipelines and expansion of store and brand portfolios.
• Establish scalable HR processes, policies and frameworks that support rapid growth while ensuring compliance.
• Provide commercial HR business partnering, aligning people initiatives with productivity and profitability goals.
• Advise on complex employee relations, performance management and organisational change in line with Australian and New Zealand legislation.

Required profile

• 8–10 years progressive HR experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑site retail or similarly labour‑intensive environment.
• Proven track record of improving employee retention, reducing attrition and building sustainable talent pipelines.
• Experience transforming recruitment processes and delivering high‑volume hiring results.
• Strong commercial acumen with understanding of labour costs, productivity and profitability.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian employment legislation; New Zealand experience is a plus.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, Business or equivalent professional experience.
