Senior GitHub Architect – DevOps & CI/CD

About the role

We are looking for a senior GitHub Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑grade development workflows, repository structures and CI/CD pipelines on the GitHub platform. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic governance to enable secure, scalable software delivery across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable GitHub organizations, repository layouts and branching strategies aligned with business and security requirements.
• Define and enforce governance policies for access control, branch protection, repository lifecycle and auditing.
• Lead migrations from Jenkins, Bitbucket or Azure DevOps to GitHub, creating roadmaps and execution plans.
• Implement GitHub Advanced Security controls such as secret scanning, dependency and code scanning.
• Develop custom, reusable GitHub Actions, runners and environments to support CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with security, product and leadership teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship and act as a trusted advisor to development teams.

Required profile

• Consultative mindset with the ability to listen to engineering challenges and propose structural solutions.
• Clear communication skills for translating complex DevOps setups into executive‑level roadmaps.
• Strong problem‑solving aptitude to debug pipeline blockers, caching issues or runner resource constraints.

Required skills

• GitHub Enterprise Server and GitHub Cloud administration.
• GitHub APIs and organization provisioning.
• Advanced Git knowledge, including GitFlow and trunk‑based development.
• GitHub Actions, custom runners and environment configuration.
• GitHub Advanced Security (secret scanning, dependency tracking, code scanning).
• CI/CD pipeline design and migration from Jenkins, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Binary repository management and security scanning tools.
