Senior Geotechnical Engineer – Lead Design & Mentoring

About the role

Join Aurecon’s Ground & Underground team in Brisbane as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, leading design across feasibility, concept and detailed phases while mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design from feasibility through detailed design.
• Apply advanced analysis using PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience and other tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients to win new work.
• Provide occasional on‑site support to ensure successful project delivery.

Required profile

• 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• RPEQ certification and ability to obtain defence clearance.
• Proven track record of delivering high‑quality designs and reports.
• Strong commercial awareness and client engagement skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLAXIS.
• Proficiency with GeoStudio.
• Proficiency with Rocscience.
• Experience in finite‑element (FE) modelling for geotechnical applications.
