Senior BIM Coordinator, Rail & Metro

About the role

SMEC is seeking a Senior BIM Coordinator to join its Rail & Metro team in Brisbane. You will play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects across ANZ by driving BIM implementation and ensuring high‑quality digital delivery. Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement BIM across rail and metro projects.
• Set up, manage and optimise BIM workflows for complex infrastructure deliverables.
• Monitor, audit and review BIM utilisation to ensure best‑practice outcomes.
• Coordinate BIM models, conduct clash detection and support model integration.
• Mentor and support team members in BIM standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years experience on rail transport and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of BIM and CAD technologies, especially the Autodesk suite.
• Proven experience in BIM implementation, model setup, coordination and workflow management.
• Ability to engage stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
• Relevant qualification such as a Bachelor, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in a related field.
