Senior Fund Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Fund Accountant at Carta, you will support venture capital firms by streamlining their financial accounting needs and collaborating with product, engineering, go‑to‑market and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage capital calls, distributions, audit/tax support, and quarterly/annual financial reporting for fund clients.
• Provide limited partner communications, real‑time IRR, TVPI, RVPI data and other portfolio metrics.
• Work with product and engineering teams to improve the Investor Services software suite.
• Mentor junior accountants and help translate service processes into software solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of closed‑end fund accounting experience.
• Degree in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of Limited Partnership Agreements and venture capital/private equity fund structures.
• Excellent critical‑thinking, problem‑solving and stakeholder communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience interpreting Limited Partnership Agreements.
• Knowledge of venture capital, private equity and local fund structures (Unit Trust, Investment Company, VCLP, ESVCLP, stapled structures).
