About the role
A well-established Australian enterprise operating nationally across a diverse commercial portfolio is hiring a permanent Senior Financial Accountant in North Sydney. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the role owns core financial control, month-end closing, statutory compliance and operational analysis. Flexible hybrid working is available, with direct exposure to executive leadership and a structured path for professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end month-end closing, journal processing and complex balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare statutory financial statements and group reporting packages while maintaining AASB / IFRS compliance
- Perform P&L variance analysis, cash flow forecasting and deliver operational insights to leadership
- Support external audit processes and help improve internal controls with senior management
Required profile
- CA / CPA qualified, or equivalent
- Big 4 or mid-tier external audit background seeking a first or second commercial move, or proven corporate/commercial accounting experience
- Strong technical accounting foundation with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
