Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Lead critical month‑end reporting, own cash‑flow forecasting and influence key project accounting decisions within a hybrid working environment at one of Australia’s largest energy retailers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end activities including journals, accruals, financial results reviews and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse performance, technology project spend, profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow to provide clear insights for management and CFO reporting.
• Own rolling cash‑flow forecasts, partner with stakeholders to challenge assumptions and explain material variances.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on capital expenditure, intangible assets, SaaS arrangements and impairment considerations.
• Simplify and automate recurring finance processes using Oracle Cloud, SmartView, Power BI and Excel.

Required profile

• At least five years’ experience in financial accounting or financial control roles.
• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce with CA, CPA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and hands‑on month‑end experience.
• Experience with capital expenditure, fixed or intangible asset accounting and cash‑flow forecasting.
