Senior Estimator / Cost Planner

About the role

BESIX Watpac, a builder with over a century of heritage in Australia, is looking for a Senior Estimator / Cost Planner to join its Queensland, Northern Territory and New Zealand team. The role manages estimating and cost planning during tender, design development and project delivery phases.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and manage tender estimates and project cost plans based on different delivery methods and contracts.
• Identify risks in head contract tender documents.
• Review project designs through development stages to spot potential cost management risks.
• Monitor project costs and upstream or downstream cost management issues.
• Work with project teams to prepare detailed cost plans for head contract variations and similar claims, and help agree subcontractor and consultant variations.

Required profile

• Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with highly established experience in cost planning or estimating.
• Experience in cost planning and cost management for multi-stage management contracts.
• Ability to communicate, influence and build relationships at all levels of the business, and to manage shifting work priorities.

Required skills

• Clear understanding of industry construction techniques.
• Proficient, proven skills in industry software.
