Senior Engineer – Building Services

About the role

WYN is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead mechanical building services design for a range of projects in Sydney. This full‑time, on‑site position involves overseeing concept development, detailed design and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering design and delivery for building services projects.
• Develop concepts, produce detailed designs and coordinate with civil, structural and MEP teams.
• Review and approve technical documentation, perform calculations and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives to deliver cost‑effective solutions.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders, attend project meetings and resolve technical issues during design and construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and a positive team culture.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and best‑practice development.

Required profile

• Strong technical expertise in mechanical building services, including design, analysis and documentation.
• Proficiency with engineering software such as HAP for heat‑load calculations and CAD/BIM platforms.
• Familiarity with local and international building codes and standards.
• Demonstrated project‑management experience, including planning, risk monitoring and deliverable management.
• Effective stakeholder and client engagement skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and promoting an inclusive team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; professional registration or eligibility for chartered status preferred.
• Background working on commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, healthcare or infrastructure projects within a consultancy or construction environment.
