Senior Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse

About the role

This full‑time senior ECC Veterinary Nurse position at ARH Essendon Fields combines hands‑on clinical work (≈70%) with leadership and administrative duties (≈30%). You will work in a busy multidisciplinary referral hospital, supporting junior nurses and contributing to service development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑standard nursing care to critically ill and injured patients, including advanced anaesthesia and emergency procedures.
• Mentor and coach junior nurses, fostering a positive learning culture.
• Assist with departmental administration, rostering, workflow management and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Perform and interpret in‑house laboratory tests and advanced diagnostics.

Required profile

• Qualified Veterinary Nurse with substantial Emergency and Critical Care experience.
• Calm under pressure with excellent clinical judgement.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Passionate about mentoring and delivering exceptional patient care.

Required skills
