Senior Director of Project Delivery

About the role

Emerald Clinical Trials is seeking a (Senior) Director of Project Delivery to lead its Early Phase Project Management team. The role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and client engagement to ensure successful delivery of clinical projects across therapeutic areas such as renal, cardiometabolic, and oncology.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing Early Phase Project Management team, including Project Directors, Managers, and Specialists.
• Oversee resource planning, allocation, and workload management to meet project timelines, budgets, and compliance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process innovation, and operational excellence across all Early Phase projects.
• Maintain client relationships, contribute to business development activities, and support proposal and bid processes.
• When required, act as a billable Project Director on high‑priority or high‑demand projects, assuming full responsibility for project delivery, financial performance, and team leadership.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in project delivery within a CRO or clinical research environment.
• Strong track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex clinical studies on time and within budget.
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and performance management skills.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards for clinical trials.
