Customer Support Engineer – JP2060 (Field Service)

About the role

Philips is seeking a Customer Support Engineer for the JP2060 programme, delivering maintenance and engineering support for a range of medical devices used by the Australian Defence Force and for disaster relief. The role is based at the JP2060 Support Centre in Bundamba, QLD, with regular travel to Defence establishments across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Execute technical service requests, problem resolution and planned maintenance activities.
• Accurately document diagnostics, resolutions and test procedures in the service management system.
• Manage customer escalations, safety and non‑safety complaints, and associated action plans.
• Provide Level One repairs and problem solving for equipment from multiple vendors.
• Lead technical escalations through to resolution, keeping all stakeholders updated.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, functionality testing, electrical safety (ES) testing and additional inspections.
• Deliver engineering support for a wide portfolio of devices, including patient monitors, defibrillators, ventilators, anesthesia and electrosurgery systems.
• Work reasonable additional hours outside normal business times as required.

Required profile

• Degree‑level education or equivalent experience in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related defence engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of customer‑facing service engineering experience in the medical equipment industry.
• Strong IT skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to travel frequently across Australia.
• Full Australian driver’s licence, police check and military clearance.
