Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Shift is looking for a senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve its cloud infrastructure and security posture. You will shape how our Azure environment is built, secured and operated, working closely with engineering teams to embed security from the start.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex DevOps and security initiatives across Shift’s cloud environments from design through delivery.
• Build, maintain and continuously improve automated deployment pipelines using best‑practice CI/CD tools.
• Drive security testing, vulnerability scanning and remediation across production, data and operational infrastructure.
• Define and enforce security policies, risk assessments, controls and processes for the wider infrastructure team.
• Monitor emerging security threats and industry trends, proactively mitigating risks.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into applications and tooling.
• Identify and execute long‑standing infrastructure and security uplift work end‑to‑end.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or security‑focused roles.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure (or comparable AWS experience).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or C#.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals (IAM, WAF, vulnerability management) with real implementation experience.
