Senior Data & AI Engineer

About the role

Join a greenfield project building audience segmentation and measurement capabilities for a leading Australian retail media business. You will work in a hybrid, flexible environment from our Sydney office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production data pipelines and models using BigQuery, dbt, Airflow and Python.
• Develop governed, AI‑ready audience and measurement datasets for planning assistants and automated insights.
• Establish engineering standards (CI/CD, testing, observability, cost optimisation) and champion AI‑assisted tooling.
• Collaborate with product, measurement and commercial teams to translate business questions into technical solutions.
• Deliver MVP pipelines and models in the first year and create standardized post‑campaign reporting datasets.

Required profile

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with strong SQL and Python skills.
• Hands‑on knowledge of the ad‑tech ecosystem, including ad logs, audience segmentation and campaign measurement.
• Commercial mindset to link engineering decisions to client ROI.
• Proven ability to work in zero‑to‑one environments, manage ambiguity and own end‑to‑end delivery.
