Senior Consultant - Tax Advisory

About the role

KPMG’s Mid-Market & Private team is seeking a Senior Consultant to deliver high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse private and mid‑market client base across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver income tax returns for companies, trusts, private groups and corporate groups.
• Support tax‑focused advisory engagements such as restructures, M&A, and international expansion.
• Assist with ATO reviews and audits by preparing technical responses and documentation.
• Address complex income tax issues including CGT rollovers, tax consolidation, Division 7A, thin capitalisation and global entity considerations.
• Contribute to tax risk management and governance frameworks for businesses and groups.
• Conduct technical tax research and apply legislation, ATO guidance and case law to client scenarios.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for varied stakeholders.
• Commercially minded, proactive and client‑centric with a focus on delivering high‑quality outcomes.
• Experience in income tax compliance and advisory within a professional services or corporate environment.
• Ability to stay up‑to‑date with tax legislation, ATO guidance and relevant case law.
