Senior Consultant - Private Tax & Business Services

About the role

Horizon Nexus Partners is seeking a Senior Consultant to join its Private Tax & Business Services team within a collaborative Chartered Accounting firm. The role delivers tax, accounting and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of business and high net wealth clients, providing proactive advice, managing compliance obligations and contributing to the success of clients and the wider team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare income tax reconciliations, income tax returns, activity statements and other taxation compliance requirements for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals.
• Assist in preparing special purpose financial reports and contribute to general purpose and large reporting financial statements.
• Provide technical expertise across corporate tax, capital gains tax, Division 7A and trust taxation.
• Build and maintain client relationships through proactive advice and tailored solutions.
• Mentor and support junior team members and collaborate in a team environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and keep up to date with taxation legislation, accounting standards and industry developments.

Required profile

• Minimum of four years' experience in a medium to large Australian Chartered Accounting firm, with strong exposure to Private Tax and Business Services.
• Experience preparing taxation compliance work and financial reports across multiple entity structures.
• CA qualification, or near completion of CA studies.
• Proactive, motivated and able to work collaboratively, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• Sound understanding of corporate tax, capital gains tax, Division 7A and trust taxation.
