Finance Manager (Permanent Part-Time)

About the role

A Sydney recruitment business is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager working three days a week in the Sydney CBD. You will be the senior finance person the Managing Director relies on for accurate numbers, covering financial control, compliance, a fortnightly contingent pay cycle and the running of the whole finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial control, including month-end close, cash flow and monthly reporting
• Prepare budgets and track actuals against forecast, with variance commentary for the Managing Director
• Produce monthly commission reports
• Lodge payroll tax and BAS
• Coordinate external audits and government reporting across NSW, QLD and ACT, including Scheme 0007, Scheme 012 and GGCS0060 panels
• Manage insurances, WHS and workers compensation
• Oversee the fortnightly pay cycle for 100+ contractors and contingent staff, including superannuation
• Mentor the Accounts Assistant, who handles contractor pay
• Improve processes and systems as the business grows

Required profile

• CPA or CA qualified
• Hands-on experience in a small to mid-size business, not just oversight
• Experience with contingent pay cycles, debtor finance or audit
• Recruitment or labour hire background is a plus
• Articulate and professional, able to represent the business to consultants and clients

Required skills

• MYOB experience preferred
• Exposure to Astute, JobAdder, Employment Hero and Dext

• Salary of AU$120,000 - AU$130,000 per annum plus superannuation
