Senior Consultant – Internal Audit & Risk Advisory

About the role

Our client, a leading global professional services firm, is expanding its Internal Audit & Risk Advisory practice in Australia. The Senior Consultant will lead complex audit engagements, work directly with senior client stakeholders, and help shape the growth of a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver internal audit and risk assurance projects across multiple industries.
• Plan, execute, and report audit assignments in line with professional standards and firm methodology.
• Identify control gaps, process‑improvement opportunities and emerging risks, providing actionable recommendations.
• Prepare high‑quality audit reports and present findings to senior management and audit committees.
• Assess governance frameworks, risk‑management processes and internal control environments.
• Support internal audit outsourcing and co‑sourcing arrangements.
• Manage, coach and develop junior consultants and analysts, allocating work and monitoring progress.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify business‑development opportunities and contribute to proposal development.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in internal audit, risk advisory, external audit or controls assurance within a professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk‑management and internal‑control frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead engagements, interact with senior stakeholders and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
