Senior Consultant – Internal Audit

About the role

RSM Australia is seeking a Senior Consultant II to join its Risk Advisory Services team. You will lead internal audit, compliance and advisory engagements for a diverse client portfolio, combining analytical thinking with hands‑on fieldwork to improve governance, risk and control environments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and deliver internal audit and risk advisory projects across multiple industries.
• Manage project teams, mentor junior staff and ensure methodology and quality compliance.
• Prepare engagement budgets, monitor costs and allocate resources effectively.
• Conduct technical and operational reviews, develop a deep understanding of client systems and controls.
• Produce high‑quality electronic working papers and clear audit reports with actionable recommendations.
• Identify emerging issues, propose solutions and support business development activities.
• Build and maintain senior‑level client relationships and present findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in internal audit, compliance or risk advisory.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and client‑facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a focus on delivering practical recommendations.
