Senior Communications Specialist – Alumni & Philanthropy

About the role

The Alumni & Philanthropy Office at Murdoch University is seeking a senior communications professional to shape and deliver strategic narratives that deepen alumni engagement and drive philanthropic giving. Reporting to the Director, you will lead a data‑driven, AI‑enhanced communications function across digital platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute audience‑centric communication campaigns that support major gifts, regular giving and alumni relations.
• Develop strategic frameworks, storytelling assets and multi‑channel content that showcase donor impact.
• Leverage data analytics and AI tools to refine messaging, measure effectiveness and optimise outreach.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to align communications with university fundraising goals.
• Oversee the creation of digital, social and print assets that reinforce a globally connected alumni community.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in communications, preferably within higher education or philanthropy.
• Strong ability to translate insights into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing high‑impact campaigns and stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Experience with AI‑enabled content tools and digital platforms.
• Data‑analytics proficiency for audience segmentation and performance tracking.
