Senior Communications and Digital Officer

About the role

Safe Food Production Queensland is seeking a Senior Communications and Digital Officer to lead the development and delivery of strategic communication and digital content. You will translate complex food‑safety information into clear, actionable messages for the public and industry, especially during recalls and emerging issues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead external and internal communications, digital media, content creation, publishing and marketing activities.
• Develop and execute communication plans, campaigns and digital content across website, social media and publications.
• Provide strategic advice on high‑risk and sensitive issues, ensuring messages are accurate and in plain language.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across government, industry and community groups.
• Supervise the Communications and Projects Officer and support a small team to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, digital, engagement or a related field.
• Extensive experience leading strategic communications and managing digital channels in a small or complex organisation.
• Proven ability to handle brand management and crisis communications.
• Experience in public‑sector engagement, preferably within a government or statutory body.
