Senior Client Consultant Lawyer

About the role

Slater and Gordon Lawyers are seeking a Senior Client Consultant Lawyer to join their Client Advisory Practice in Melbourne. This is a full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term position with flexible, hybrid working arrangements. The role focuses on client intake for personal injury matters, providing clear legal advice and managing the initial engagement process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct first client appointments for work‑related and road injury claims, gathering detailed instructions and assessing matter viability.
• Offer and manage Legal Cost Agreements for viable matters.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with clients to improve conversion and satisfaction.
• Engage with internal legal practice teams to ensure smooth handovers and stay updated on legal developments.
• Adopt and test new technologies to enhance intake processes.
• Mentor and support junior lawyers within the Direct to Lawyer team.

Required profile

• Post‑admission experience (ideally 5+ years) as a Personal Injury Lawyer, preferably in work and road injury law.
• Demonstrated expert knowledge and passion for personal injury law.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven networking and relationship‑management skills.
• Previous experience in client intake or managing a file load.
