Senior Civil Structural Engineer

About the role

A South Australian-owned civil and structural engineering consultancy, founded in 2013, is looking for a Senior / Mid Tier Civil Structural Engineer. The role suits someone who enjoys conceptualising and implementing structural and civil solutions on residential and small commercial projects, working closely with builders and drafters in a small, effective team. It is based in Gawler.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and engineer solutions covering footing analysis, structural steel, concrete and timber designs, and soil property analysis
• Produce engineering drawings and designs using AutoCAD
• Carry out calculations on pressures, loads and stresses, and review blueprints, plans and change orders
• Secure planning and building regulations approvals, liaising with authorities
• Organise and document site soil investigations and assess construction materials
• Oversee contractors and conduct on-site inspections of footings and structural components
• Manage, coordinate and report on engineering projects, and research new material technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering and Design
• Proficiency in residential footing/slab design (raft and waffle) and timber/steel framing
• Strong autonomous and collaborative work, and clear communication with builders, designers and tradespeople
• Good knowledge of Australian structural engineering standards and exceptional English communication
• Class C Australian driver's licence and access to a vehicle
• Right to live and work in Australia
