Senior BIM Specialist

About the role

As a Senior BIM Specialist at B&W Engineering, you will lead the technical BIM delivery for Australian projects, producing high‑quality building services models and ensuring compliance with digital standards from design through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain MEP/building services models in Autodesk Revit according to project information needs.
• Lead multidisciplinary model federation, clash detection and coordination using Navisworks or Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Produce model‑based deliverables such as drawings, schedules, quantity take‑offs and coordination reports.
• Implement BIM Execution Plans, conduct model audits and ensure compliance with AS ISO 19650 and Australian BIM guidelines.
• Mentor BIM modelers and technicians, and act as the local BIM point of contact for project teams, clients and partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent diploma with substantial BIM experience).
• 6–8 years of BIM experience, including at least 3 years in a senior modelling or coordination role.
• Proven delivery on large, multidisciplinary Australian projects and familiarity with local standards.

Required skills

• Autodesk Revit (MEP) modelling.
• Navisworks clash detection and coordination.
• Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 data management.
• Scripting/automation tools such as Dynamo or pyRevit.
• Knowledge of AS ISO 19650 and NATSPEC BIM guidelines.
