Senior Associate – Technology Transactions

About the role

Join Ashurst Perkins Coie’s Technology Transactions team in Brisbane as a Senior Associate, working on a full range of technology, data and digital infrastructure matters for leading Australian and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on technology licensing, data, cyber, privacy, cloud computing, fintech, commercial contracts and complex projects.
• Support due‑diligence and transaction phases, including negotiating Transitional Services Agreements and handling technology M&A matters.
• Provide regulatory advice on the Queensland Information Technology Contracting Framework, Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and APRA CPS 230.
• Assist clients with major cybersecurity incidents and compliance with emerging regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience in technology, cyber security or privacy practice.
• Experience with QITC Framework, Security of Critical Infrastructure Act and APRA CPS 230 is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a commercial, client‑focused approach.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and proactive, energetic attitude.

Required skills

• Negotiation of technology contracts and commercial agreements.
• Regulatory advisory on cyber, privacy and critical infrastructure legislation.
