Associate – Employment Law (2-4 PQE)

About the role

Johnson Winter Slattery is seeking a 2‑4 year post‑qualification associate to join its Brisbane employment practice. Working alongside a senior partner, you will handle high‑profile industrial relations and employment law matters and collaborate with teams in Melbourne and Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate employment contracts and policies.
• Conduct workplace investigations and manage disciplinary and performance matters.
• Review awards, provide advice on industrial instruments and wage remediation processes.
• Support corporate and transactional teams with specialist employment law advice.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in employment and industrial relations law within a private practice.
• Strong commercial outlook, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative, positive and energetic approach.

Required skills

• Legal research and drafting of employment law documents.
• Negotiation of contracts and settlement agreements.
• Conducting workplace investigations.
