Senior Associate – Accounting Advisory

About the role

Scyne Advisory is seeking a Senior Associate to provide high‑quality accounting advice to public‑sector and for‑purpose clients across Australia, focusing on major infrastructure projects and climate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical accounting advice on Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) covering complex areas such as financial instruments, leases, service concession arrangements and joint ventures.
• Support clients with financial statement preparation, impact assessments, climate and sustainability reporting, and implementation roadmaps for new standards.
• Assist in finance optimisation engagements for infrastructure transactions, including due‑diligence, balance‑sheet analysis and financial reporting support.

Required profile

• Currently progressing toward CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification (mandatory).
• Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting (mandatory) with 3–4 years of experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, audit or advisory within a professional services environment.
• Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain Baseline or NV1 security clearance.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
• Experience interpreting and applying accounting standards to complex transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to translate technical issues for diverse audiences.
