Senior Applied AI Engineer
Culture Amp · Sydney
Job description
About the role
Culture Amp is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join the Frontier team and build agentic AI solutions that improve the employee experience. This role blends applied AI research with product engineering to deliver production‑ready features that solve real customer problems.
Key responsibilities

- Develop data pipelines that integrate workplace data (surveys, goals, performance reviews, feedback, 1‑1 notes) into a coherent context view.
- Build session memory, context graphs, and per‑user relational and procedural memory grounded in a custom ontology.
- Implement and evaluate Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) with hybrid search and graph‑based agentic frameworks.
- Own the end‑to‑end feedback loop: prompt engineering, large‑scale evaluation, and continuous improvement using LLM‑powered analysis tools.
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions, write documentation, and partner with product, design, and people‑science teams.
- Contribute to evaluation frameworks, bias testing, and production guardrails for responsible AI.
Required profile
- Proven commercial experience delivering ML/AI systems to production.
- Hands‑on experience with knowledge graphs and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Neptune).
- Experience with production LLM evaluation, observability tools (Langfuse, LangSmith) and human‑in‑the‑loop labeling.
- Background in designing and scaling multi‑agentic systems, including prompt, context engineering and memory architectures.
