Senior Accountant – Financial & Operations Accounting

About the role

Peabody is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Financial and Operations Accounting team in Australia. The role focuses on complex mining and lease accounting, supporting accurate financial results across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the application of lease accounting standards under IFRS and US GAAP, including contract reviews, journal entries, reconciliations and system maintenance.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end accounting activities such as journals, balance‑sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, royalties and other mining‑specific items.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deliverables.

Required profile

• Technically strong financial accountant with a CA or CPA qualification and 5+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and US GAAP, including the ability to prepare technical accounting advice and audit support documentation.
• Experience in mining or resources accounting is highly regarded but not essential.
