Senior 12D Design Engineer – Civil Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is looking for a Senior 12D Design Engineer to create civil infrastructure designs using 12D Model, with a focus on road alignment and earthworks. The position offers flexibility to work from any of ACCIONA’s Australian offices – Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed design models and documentation using the latest versions of 12D Model and AutoCAD.
• Develop innovative modelling solutions and keep pace with emerging industry technologies.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical, cost‑effective engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate with other designers to develop, maintain and improve design and modelling standards.
• Identify and forecast risks, opportunities and scope variances within assigned works.
• Prepare design inputs for estimating activities, including quantities and take‑offs.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Strong proficiency in 12D Model, including macro programming, snippet creation and chain management.
• Proven experience delivering 12D civil designs, particularly road alignment, within a design consultancy environment.
• Solid understanding of road design principles and alignment methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with alternative design platforms such as OpenRoads is a plus.
