Secondary English Teacher

About the role

Aranmore Catholic College, a co-educational K-12 Catholic college in Leederville, is seeking a full-time Secondary English Teacher to start in Term 1, 2027. The teacher will deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate English programs, inspire a love of literature, language and critical thinking, and uphold the Catholic ethos of the college.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality English programs aligned to the Western Australian Curriculum
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom that supports student engagement and wellbeing
• Use evidence-based strategies to support diverse learners
• Assess learning and give timely, constructive feedback aligned to the SCSA Achievement Standards Model
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to cocurricular and whole-school activities
• Communicate professionally with students, families and colleagues
• Uphold Child Safe School guidelines and prioritise student safety and wellbeing

Required profile

• Current TRBWA registration
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Secondary Education (English specialisation preferred)
• Accreditation to teach Religious Education, or working towards it
• Current Working with Children Check and commitment to the CEWA Child Safe Framework
• Strong curriculum knowledge and contemporary teaching practice, with a collaborative approach to school culture
