SAP BW/4HANA Consultant

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for a hands-on SAP BW/4HANA Consultant / Developer to join its Modern ERP Reporting & Analytics stream, internally aligned to the Senior Adviser Reporting and Analytics position. You will own defined data modules and groups of reports, remediating existing reporting so it continues to work as the business moves to S/4HANA. The role covers build, testing, defect resolution, go-live and hypercare in a large-scale global program, on a 12+ month engagement from the Perth or Brisbane hub.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, test and remediate SAP BW/4HANA reporting solutions as reporting moves from ECC6 to S/4HANA.
• Own data modules and groups of reports end to end, turning business requirements into functional and technical designs.
• Analyse existing reports and data dependencies to keep critical reporting running during a brownfield S/4HANA transition, including legacy and new-system data integration.
• Develop performant BW/4HANA data models and reporting solutions for large historical data volumes.
• Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, go-live readiness and hypercare.
• Work with business users, business analysts, project managers, internal teams and the systems integration partner, and give constructive technical reviews.

Required profile

• Demonstrated hands-on SAP BW/4HANA development experience, including building, configuring, testing and remediating enterprise reporting.
• Experience delivering reporting in SAP S/4HANA, ideally through a brownfield ECC to S/4HANA transformation.
• Strong SAP HANA data modelling and solution design, with performance tuning for large data volumes.
• Ability to own reporting deliverables through build, testing, defect resolution and implementation.
• Experience in large, complex projects or programs with stakeholders and external partners.
• Tertiary qualification in IT, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• SAP BW/4HANA development and SAP HANA data modelling
• Helpful: native SAP HANA development and ABAP (LSA++, authorisation roles, performance tuning)
• Helpful: Analysis for Office, hybrid native HANA / BW modelling, Power BI with BW and HANA data
