SAP Application Specialist

About the role

Medibank is looking for an SAP Application Specialist in Docklands, Melbourne. The role provides operational support, stability, continuous improvement and business continuity for Medibank's SAP solutions, with a primary focus on SAP FS-PM (Policy Management). It works closely with business stakeholders, functional and technical consultants and external partners to resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis and carry out approved policy data corrections. It is described as a new entry/mid-level opportunity for someone who wants to learn more about SAP, debug code and fix production incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for SAP applications and promote operational excellence and best practices.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests, and perform root cause analysis with preventative actions.
• Monitor jobs, interfaces, queues and application processing.
• Work with business stakeholders and vendors to resolve issues, and follow ITIL, ITSM, change and release management processes.
• Support restoration of policy integrity after processing issues or defects, and support testing of production fixes and minor enhancements.
• Maintain support documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles, and assist with documenting enhancement opportunities and business requirements.

Required profile

• Ideally experience supporting SAP applications in a production environment.
• Strong incident management, troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.
• Ability to analyse application behaviour across functional and technical domains.
• Experience performing controlled business data correction and monitoring jobs, interfaces and queues.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Experience in ITIL-based service management environments.

Required skills

• Nice to have: SAP FS-PM (Policy Management) experience and insurance industry knowledge.
• Nice to have: working knowledge of ABAP and SAP debugging techniques.
• Nice to have: experience with SAP CRM, integrations, web services or related technologies.
